Forgive me if this jawn sounds condescending, but it's the truth: What you mainly need to do is focus more in class. Turn the phone off (if the phone is too much of a temptation, you can turn it in to me at the beginning of class and I'll give it back at the end). Stay awake. Arrive on time. Listen to instructions so you know what the assignments are, when they're due, and how to do them. If there's a group activity, use the time for the activity rather than socialization. Do all of those things and you will see both your learning and your grade improve.
This is not to say that you are never focused or doing good work, because I've seen some good stuff from you (particularly during note-taking periods or individual writing assignments. I've just also seen a ton of off-task behavior (usually during open-ended discussions or projects) and this would be the first thing to improve upon. I hope you take the above suggestions to heart.
Sincerely,
Mr. Peters
